- Problem
- A portfolio has one job: prove you can build. A template proves the opposite. So the site itself became the first project — designed, built, and deployed from zero, in public.
- Approach
- Next.js 16 with a typed content layer as the single source of truth, a hand-drawn canvas signal field, a keyboard-driven ⌘K palette, and a generated metadata suite — statically exported and shipped to GitHub Pages through a CI pipeline.
- Learned
- Deploys fail in ways tutorials don't cover. When a CI helper silently overrode my Next config and flattened the routes, reading CDN cache headers taught me more than any doc did.
